No, I didn’t lose all of my teeth and suddenly need to buy dentures. I may need to buy some Efferdent to clean my amazing new shoes: Vibram FiveFingers©.
It still takes me a few minutes to put them on. My right foot is the difficult one, with the toe next to my pinky refusing to unfurl itself. After I ran 3.5 miles yesterday, I got the bug to go rake the backyard so the kids could play out there. And I still had my shoes on! Well, as you can guess, they STINK!!! According to Vibram FiveFingers © website, I can wash them in the washing machine, but the lady from whom I bought them at REI said that she read somewhere that I could stick them in a bowl with Efferdent to clean them. I sent Vibram© a message asking about this, but haven’t gotten a response yet.
I am sore, as the retailer told me I would be. By essentially running barefoot, I am using all kinds of muscles that I don’t typically use while using a regular running shoe. My IT bands hurt quite a bit at the end of my runs, but I have been stretching them consistently. I have one little blister, but it’s on my pigeon-toed right foot that doesn’t hit the ground the same as my other foot. The best side effect of these “shoes” is that all of my leg, foot, hip, and back problems that I have been having post-run are nonexistent.
I am using my feet as God intended!
So, if you send me a message that you are going to buy some Efferdent, too, then I will know that you have joined the Barefoot Revolution with me! Check out the website and see what you think. Want to know more about the revolution? Check out the press about barefoot running and the amazing Vibram FiveFingers©.
Check back next Monday for information about Mamabargains.com and Cherry Brook Kitchen!
