Happy DAY!

Oh, my gosh!  I am just the happiest person right now!!!  The sun is shining here in Virginia, the snow is melting, it's over 40 degrees and my kids are playing happily with friends.  All is right with the world!!  I feel so bad, though, because my wonderful friend, Elise, who lives in New Jersey, said that they got another 18-20 inches of snow yesterday.  I stopped whining when she told me that.

Yesterday was vomit day--Ella woke me up by almost making it to the bathroom to throw up after she told me that she didn't feel good.
Dan and I have been trying to assure Ella that she does NOT need our approval or permission or to give us the "head's up" if she doesn't feel good--just go to the head and use it.  LOL!  I seem to be immune to my own children's vomit--it must be something that happens during pregnancy or when you adopt a child. . .God gives us some sort of serum in our dreams to handle all of that when necessary.  However, if it is from someone ELSE'S kid, no siree Bob!  THAT, my friends, is one of the main reasons that I became a Middle School teacher: they can get themselves to the bathroom well before any bodily fluids start unexpectedly flowing.  TMI???  Sorry about that.

Here is a picture of my lovely sick child.  Isn't she just absolutely too cute to be sick?

In other blog news, I seem to have lapsed on my commitment to do a post every Monday about my favorite things.  Well, since it's my blog and I can make the rules, I am changing my schedule to post Anne's Favorite Things every OTHER Monday.  This will keep you from being bored by reading my entries and help me to budget my time.  I am a mother and wife by God, a teacher by trade, a writer by choice, and a procrastinator by profession.  Ya feel me?

So, be on the lookout this Monday for my post on either IKEA or mamabargains.com--I haven't decided which one I want to tell you about first!

Here's a picture from Brennan's birthday:

We made him an allergen-free cookie cake.  Oh, that reminds me of ANOTHER favorite thing: Cherrybrook Farms Kitchens (or something like that--I think I will write about THAT for Monday!  Yeah!).
Thanks for reading!

  1. Hey Anne-

Sorry that Ella has been sick. Chase has been sick all day today. He slept till 5pm. Ella sure has grown up in the last few months. And I still cannot believe Brennan is 4 years old. I remember when you were pregnant with him.

I was immune to Chase and Nicholas' vomit when they were little. Today as Chase was throwing up in a bush (we were out this morning) I couldn't go near him without wanting to throw up myself. Not sure what is up with that. Oh well. I'm just glad they can both make it to the bathroom.

I have never tried Cherrybrook Farms for Nicholas, but they do sell it at the Target here. We usually do Divvies.

You don't need to give an explanation for not blogging every week. I enjoy hearing the update's regardless of how often you do it.

    :)

We need to get together, sorry I missed the jewelry party, that was a great idea. I have started spring cleaning so maybe we can do another one soon! Talk to you soon, Sara Glendye

  3. Anne,

Keep kitty litter in the house for those times when the kids get sick. It is great for getting up liquid mess! My tip for the day. Hope Ella is 100% by now.

    Love you
